Showing Up & Taming Decision Overload

Hi there!

I hope your February is getting off to a good start. February? What happened to January?! Time is flying by and this week, I found myself panicking a little because I made a promise to you (and myself) 2 weeks ago that I would be consistent with these emails.

I must confess, there has been quite a lot of self-talk (aka self-sabotage) going on this week:

“A few more days won’t matter….I can delay it and do it at the weekend when I’m not so busy….maybe even skip a week…no one is really keeping count anyway…”

But NO! A promise is a promise and I am committed to being consistent because I know that consistency is the KEY! So here I am showing up! Once again, far from perfect, but showing up nonetheless.

Last week I went to the UK to visit my brand new Nephew - what a joy to be able to do that without asking a boss for permission! 🙂

On my sister’s fridge was this magnet:

I loved the message so took a pic to share with you.

Have you ever been in a situation where you are faced with a decision or a series of decisions and it all just feels too overwhelming? I know I have!

In those times, I feel like I need to dive deeper into the logical parts of the problem, weigh out the pros and cons, ask people for their advice, spend time fretting over what factors and criteria will help me to make the decision and generally spending precious energy and time trying to figure things out.

Sound familiar?

What this wise magnet is trying to tell us is that all we need to do is get quiet enough to feel.

Pause, sit quietly, listen patiently and wait for the answer. It always comes, you just have to give yourself permission to allow it in.

There is no better feeling than when you just know something is right for you.

If you are facing a challenging decision this week, I hope this is of some help.

Here is a pic of my home – my lovely mum, awesome sisters and gorgeous little baby nephew, Max.

Have a great weekend!
